A study room in the Education Library has been dedicated to alumna Kelli Paul in honor of a donation from her and her husband.
Paul grew up in Northwest Indiana and came to IU to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from the IU School of Education with her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1992 and her Master of Science in Education in 1998. Paul taught in Hammond, IN, and Forest Park, IL, for a decade before dedicating her time to raising her two kids, Anjuli and Ravi.
Paul is very passionate about education and the School of Education and is proud to support a spirit of collaboration within the library to inspire the next generation of teachers to be leaders of tomorrow.
Enclosed study rooms such as the one now bearing Paul’s name provide students with a quiet space to focus as well as a space to work with others, said Christina Jones, head of the Education Library: “On any given day, we observe students in the room filling up the white board with mathematical and scientific formulas and graduate students involved in writing accountability groups. Private study rooms allow students to shut out the distractions of campus life and at the same time allow students to ask questions and discuss topics and concepts and learn from their peers.”
“The renovation of the Education Library reflects the generosity and support of educators for future educators. Alumni who choose to sponsor the Education Library help to ensure its enduring legacy for generations to come,” Jones added.
We are thankful for the donation from Paul and her husband, Ronjon, and their dedication to supporting our school and beloved library. This space was only made possible through donors and alumni like Paul, and we are so lucky and grateful to them.
